Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has announced that the local authorities have decided to toughen anti-epidemic measures in the capital city to curb the spread of COVID-19.

In particular, catering and entertainment facilities (cinemas included) should close at 22:00, the mayor said on Telegram on July 1.

In addition, the work hours of mass cultural, entertainment, sports, and advertising events should be limited to 22:00.

"The restrictions are a forced measure and are aimed at containing the spread of the disease," the mayor said. "And the city will abide by this decision of the government."

As UNIAN reported, 664 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Ukraine in the past 24 hours. Lviv region, Zakarpattia and Rivne region currently top the list with the highest number of the confirmed cases.
