Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 101 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 101 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including seven healthcare workers," he said on Telegram on July 1.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 5,138.

According to Klitschko, 46 women aged 19 to 83 and 48 men aged 18 to 83 are among those infected. In addition, three girls (aged one, six, and 14) and four boys (from one months to 13 years old) tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said nine new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

Thirty-five people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 1,598 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Obolonsky and Dniprovsky districts (15 each), Darnytsky district (14), and Desniansky district (11).

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 44,998 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of the morning of July 1. They include 1,173 deaths and 19,548 recoveries. Some 664 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
