Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city rose by 51 in the past day.

"In the past day, the number of Kyiv residents who tested positive [for the coronavirus] increased by 51, including eight healthcare workers. Two cases were fatalities. As of today, there are 2,410 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 54 deaths, in the capital city," he said during an online briefing on May 20, an UNIAN correspondent reports.

According to Klitschko, 25 women, 19 men, and seven children are among those infected.

Klitschko said five new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

Twenty-one people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said. In total, 306 Kyiv residents have already recovered from the coronavirus.
