Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 72 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 72 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including two healthcare workers. There were two fatalities," he said on Telegram on June 13.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 3,838.

According to Klitschko, 34 women aged 22 to 83 and 30 men aged 19 to 75 are among those infected. In addition, seven girls (from two to 17 years old) and one boy (10 years old) tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 21 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Obolonsky district (16), Dniprovsky district (nine), and Holosiyivsky district (eight).

Thirty-two people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 1,164 Kyiv residents have already recovered.
