Kyiv mayor reports 200 new COVID-19 cases, three fatalities in past day / Photo from UNIAN

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 200 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 200 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus. There were three fatalities," he wrote on Facebook on August 8.

As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 9,378.

According to Klitschko, 99 women and 90 men are among those infected.

In addition, 11 children tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 17 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

Forty-two people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 3,205 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Darnytsky district (29), Dniprovsky district (28), Desniansky district (24), and Obolonsky and Sviatoshynsky districts (23 each).

The total death toll in the city is 145 cases.
