Kyiv mayor reports 1,348 new daily COVID-19 cases, 34 deaths as of November 19 / REUTERS

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 1,348 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 1,348 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including 50 healthcare workers. There were 34 fatalities," Klitschko said on Telegram on November 19.

"As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 55,203."

According to the city mayor, 731 women aged 18 to 94 and 554 men aged 18 to 87 are among those infected.

Thirty-three girls (from one month to 16 years old) and 30 boys (from one month to 16 years old) have tested positive for COVID-19.

He added that 459 people had recovered in the past day.

In total, 20,015 Kyiv residents have already beaten the disease.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Darnytsky district (294), Desniansky district (188), and Solomyansky district (166).

The death toll in the city stands at 1,047.
