Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 123 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 123 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including four healthcare workers," he wrote on Telegram on August 11. "As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 9,687."

According to Klitschko, 54 women and 57 men are among those infected.

In addition, 12 children tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 17 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

Thirty-three people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 3,247 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Darnytsky district (39), Desniansky district (17), and Dniprovsky district (15).

The total death toll in the city is 147 cases.
