Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 132 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 132 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including three healthcare workers. There were two fatalities," he said on July 29. "As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 7,932."

According to Klitschko, 54 women and 66 men are among those infected.

In addition, 12 children tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 29 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

Forty-seven people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 2,877 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Dniprovsky district (22), Darnytsky district (19), and Solomyansky district (16).

The total death toll in the city is 132 cases.
