Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 133 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 133 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including six healthcare workers. There were two fatalities," he said on Facebook on August 13. "As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 10,002."

According to Klitschko, 73 women and 53 men are among those infected.

In addition, seven children tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 22 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

In total, 3,278 Kyiv residents have already recovered from the disease.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Darnytsky district (38), Solomyansky district (19), and Desniansky district (16).

The total death toll in the city is 149 cases.
