Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 182 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 182 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including five healthcare workers," he wrote on Facebook on August 12. "As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 9,869."

According to Klitschko, 86 women and 83 men are among those infected.

In addition, 13 children tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 27 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

Thirty-one people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 3,278 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Darnytsky district (39), Desniansky district (24), and Solomyansky and Obolonsky districts (21 each).

The total death toll in the city is 147 cases.
