Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 66 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 66 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus," he wrote on Telegram on August 10. "As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 9,564."

According to Klitschko, 40 women and 23 men are among those infected.

In addition, three children tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 11 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

In total, 3,214 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Dniprovsky district (14), Darnytsky district (10), and Desniansky district (nine).

The total death toll in the city is 147 cases.
