Kyiv mayor reports 87 new COVID-19 cases in past day / Photo from UNIAN

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 87 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 87 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus, including five healthcare workers," he said on Facebook on July 19.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 6,884.

According to Klitschko, 44 women and 39 men are among those infected. In addition, four children tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 13 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

Six people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said.

In total, 2,366 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Desniansky district (18), Pechersky district (14), and Dniprovsky district (11).

As UNIAN reported earlier, 731 new cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 were reported in Ukraine in the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 58,842 as of the morning of July 19.
