The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's Parliament, has dismissed Health Minister Illia Yemets and Finance Minister Ihor Umansky.

The move on Yemets was backed by 271 MPs, while 249 lawmakers voted for Umansky's sacking.

Yemets and Umansky were appointed to their posts in the Cabinet of Ministers on March 4, 2020, under the leadership of incumbent Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

At the same time, the Rada failed to approve Maksym Stepanov as Yemets's successor.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Member of Parliament with the European Solidarity parliamentary faction Iryna Gerashchenko said Serhiy Marchenko was being considered as a nominee for the finance minister's post, while Maksym Stepanov was seen as a candidate for a health minister's post.
