President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko was one of the first who congratulated Party of Regions leader Victor Yanukovych on his birthday. Journalists were told about this by one of the Party of Regions leaders, lawmaker Mykola Azarov.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, M.Azarov disclosed that the President called V.Yanukovych at 7.30 a.m. on 9 July and congratulated him on his birthday. “They had a very good conversation, as people, who have been known each other since a long time… Obviously, there were good greetings, warm, sincere, at least, Yanukovych was telling about this conversation with a big emotion”, M.Azarov said.
At the same time, M.Azarov refused to connect the greeting and the eventual agreement of Victor Yushchenko to propose the candidacy of V.Yanukovych for the post of the Prime Minister.
On 9 July V.Yanokuvych became 56.
