"The Ministry of Education and Science has sent the relevant clarification letter to all universities and local self-government bodies, which control other educational institutions. An exception may apply to those institutions that do not work for reasons not related to gas supply, such as quarantine, etc.," the press service of the Ministry of Education reported with reference to the decision of the crisis committee at the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Education and Science drew attention to the fact that the decision to suspend or resume the work of educational institutions is taken by the institution itself within its autonomy.

"The relevant decisions should also be made by local self-government bodies, which control other educational institutions," the ministry said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education and Science recommended all educational institutions to suspend work from March 2 to March 7 inclusively due to the gas shortage in the country.
