Ukraine's parliament has expelled independent Member of Parliament Nadiia Savchenko from the Verkhovna Rada's National Security and Defense Committee.

Relevant decision No. 5543 to amend the Verkhovna Rada's legal act on the election of chairpersons, first deputies, deputy chairpersons, secretaries, members of committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the eighth convocation was backed by 261 MPs out of the 349 registered in the session hall, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
As reported earlier, on March 14, the Verkhovna Rada's National Security and Defense Committee called on Parliament Speaker Andriy Parubiy to consider the Savchenko's expulsion from the committee at the March 15 parliament session.
