Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said all Normandy four leaders – the presidents of Ukraine, France, Russia and the German Chancellor – may meet in early June.

"For example, I believe that it [meeting] can and should take place in early June," he said at a joint press conference with his Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor in Kyiv, an UNIAN correspondent has reported.

"If my hopes are realistic, we'll learn it as soon as May 23-24, after preliminary arrangements are confirmed," Poroshenko said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, after a recent meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, Poroshenko on May 10 announced they were coordinating steps to hold a meeting in the Normandy Four format in the near future. Paris, France, was named as a most probable venue.

"We know that there will be meetings of Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron with Putin on [May] 18 and 23, and we have clearly agreed and coordinated those steps, the agenda that must be prepared for the Normandy Four meeting," Poroshenko said.
