Klimkin calls on Russia to stop tyranny against Ukrainian hostages
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has stressed the need to stop the Kremlin's tyranny against the Ukrainian hostages.
"At the coe [Council of Europe] ministerial session in Elsinore, I'll start with addressing my colleagues on Ukrainian hostages of the Kremlin. It's not about politics anymore, it's about the lives and destinies of people. Oleh Sentsov has declared an indefinite hunger strike demanding release of all the UA political prisoners held by RU. Volodymyr Balukh, Uzeir Abdullaev, dozens of others in critical conditions, tortured by the Kremlin. Raise your voice to stop the Kremlin's tyranny!" Klimkin wrote on Twitter on May 16, 2018.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian envoy and First Deputy Speaker of Ukraine's parliament Iryna Gerashchenko said after a Trilateral Contact Group meeting in Minsk on May 16 that there had been no progress in the issue of the release of hostages and the search for missing persons.
According to her, the whole world should put pressure on the Russian Federation for the release of the Ukrainian hostages.
