Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin says Russia deliberately sponsors terrorism in the occupied Ukrainian territories and applies torture to the detained Ukrainians.

"It is very important to understand what has been done to prevent this from happening again. It is very important to show who is behind this, the responsibility of Russia as a country that consciously sponsors terrorism and participates in torture, deliberately applying it, as well as responsibility of those, who are involved in this," he said at a joint briefing with Head of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Hrytsak held for representatives of the diplomatic corps in Kyiv on June 25.

The briefing was dedicated to the crimes committed by Russia and its proxy administration in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, in particular, to the use of torture against hostages and illegally detained persons.

On the eve of the day dedicated to the victims of torture, it is important to realize "the occupiers' inhumane behavior, in order to prove it, including legally," the minister added.
