Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy Victoria Siumar says Ukrainian media or party websites shall not be shut down without a court warrant.

"This [shutdown option] cannot concern Ukrainian websites for any political reasons. You know that today we may ban only those sites – we can shut them down beyond court warrants – which use pirated content and violate copyright regulations, as well as intellectual property rights," she said at the First International Forum for Eastern and Central Europe "Via Carpatia," held in the village of Kryvovirnia in Ivano-Frankivsk region on June 23-30.

However, the rule should not apply to foreign resources that are included in the sanctions list and threaten national security, the official added.
