Poroshenko signs off Law on National Security
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed the Law on National Security of Ukraine.
The president signed the law following the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
According to Poroshenko, the law will promote achieving compatibility in the defense sphere with NATO Allies.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on June 21, the Verkhovna Rada adopted Bill "On National Security of Ukraine" (No 8068).
The bill defines the principles of state policy on national security and defense. Among the fundamental national interests of Ukraine is Ukraine's integration into the European political, economic legal space and that in the sphere of security; membership in the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization; development of equal and mutually beneficial relations with other states.
