While attending the multinational exercises "Sea Breeze 2018" during his working trip to Odesa, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said Ukraine, located on the eastern flank of NATO, jointly with the Alliance defend Europe from Russian aggression, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

The Head of State thanked all the partners of Ukraine "for the firm, clear and constant support of Ukraine in the containment of Russian aggression," the Presidential Administration's press service reported.

"This is not only the protection of Ukrainian territory. We are on the eastern flank of NATO. We jointly defend Europe," Petro Poroshenko said, adding: “We are open for the exchange of information, knowledge and practice, because Ukraine is practically the only country that has stopped the invasion of the Russian aggressor”.

The president underlined the importance of enhancing Ukraine's integration with the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance.

Poroshenko also recalled his recent participation in the Brussels Summit of NATO. "I am confident that Summit’s documents help us further develop cooperation with our partners, reform the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reform the Naval Forces of Ukraine and change them for building on the basis of NATO standards," the president said.

The Head of State thanked Ukraine's partners for their assistance in carrying out reforms in the security and defense sector.

The President wished all the participants of the training a successful implementation of the tasks. "Let the seas and oceans continue to unite our nations - Ukraine, NATO countries, our partners. And especially 19 countries, which together with us take part in the Sea Breeze 2018,” The Head of State emphasized.
