Turchynov proposes criminal liability for procurements in Russia
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov has proposed the introduction of criminal responsibility for financial support of the aggressor country, in particular, for procurements in the Russian Federation.
"It seems to me there should be not only moral, but also criminal responsibility for financial support of the aggressor country for those who buy from Russia such things that can be made in Ukraine," he told journalists on Tuesday, an UNIAN correspondent reported.
As UNIAN reported, the procurement office of Ukrainian state-run railways operator JSC Ukrzaliznytsia signed a contract with a branch of the Russian Railways for the supply of 96 copper-nickel "Honorary Railwayman" badges to the railways of Ukraine. The contract, which was concluded after a tender conducted through Ukraine's ProZorro e-procurement system, is estimated at RUB 181,927, or US$2,920, including VAT.
