"Over 2,300 Ukrainian citizens were detained, convicted in the Russian Federation," Kyrylych said at a press conference on Friday, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

He said the data covered the period for the last three years.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman announced on July 26 that the government had decided to allocate UAH 100,000 (around EUR 3,220) to each family of political prisoners held in Russia or on Russian-occupied territory.
