"As part of the visit, John Bolton will meet with the leaders of Ukraine and high-ranking Ukrainian representatives," the embassy added.

According to Reuters, Bolton will meet Russian officials in Geneva next week as a follow-up to the summit meeting that President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin had in Helsinki last month.

As UNIAN reported earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump on March 23 replaced H.R. McMaster as national security adviser with John Bolton.

Bolton, 69, is a Fox News analyst who contemplated a run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. He is a familiar figure in Washington.
