Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says he is shocked by the number of "advocates" of Russian President Vladimir Putin among Ukrainian politicians.

"The Kremlin is imposing on us its information war aimed to enslave our minds. As president, I'm shocked by the fact how many Putin's advocates there are in our politics and how they are trying to relieve him of responsibility for the war and shift this responsibility onto Ukraine," Poroshenko said at the International Volunteer and Veteran Forum "Ukraine is where we are," an UNIAN correspondent reports.

The president added that some politicians "are so blinded by their internal scuffles that they thoughtlessly, and sometimes even consciously, disseminate traditional and dangerous stamps of Russian propaganda."

"Perhaps they think they are fighting for power that way. Not really, actually. I firmly believe they are working for the aggressor, trying to undermine the morale of the Ukrainians; they are trying to weaken people's will to resist. And most importantly, they are targeting the rear, hitting the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the back," Poroshenko said.
