Ukraine Parliament Speaker Andriy Parubiy has no official information about any alleged attempts by deputies to postpone the presidential election date.

"I'm not aware of this from any official sources," Parubiy told journalists, commenting on the statement of Leonid Yemets, MP from the People's Front faction, about the alleged drafting of a motion to the Constitutional Court to postpone the date of presidential elections in Ukraine, an UNIAN correspondent reports.

In Parubiy's opinion, elections should be held in accordance with the Constitution.

"If I'm not mistaken, according to the Constitution, elections are held on the last Sunday of March of the fifth year of the president's tenure. This is the only way I see legal grounds and legitimate prerequisites," Parubiy said.
