Yanukovych asks President to stop Tymoshenko
Party of Regions blames govt for "unprepared privatization"
Leader of the Party of Regions Victor Yanukovych asks President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko to suspend the privatization, kicked off by the Cabinet of Ministers, until it is approved by the Verkhovna Rada.
V. Yanukovych send a correspondent letter to the President of Ukraine, the text of this letter is at UNIAN`s disposal.
The letter reads that, according to the conclusion of the parliament members from the Party of Regions, the government`s actions in the sphere of privatization are unsystematic and not coordinated with provisions of the Decree of the President of Ukraine “On the Plan on Top-Priority Measures in Investment Activity Sphere” from April 10, 2006, № 300/2006 and also the Activity Program of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the part of elaborating of the State Privatization Program submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
According to the letter, Party of Regions representatives are confident that the government is going to privatize the state property in the volumes, which will destabilize the market, and lead to depreciation of assets due to the absence of an appropriate legal securing of the privatization processes and privatization programs, under conditions of worsening the conjuncture at the world stock market.
According to his opinion, the current privatization is prompt, unprepared, does not take into account all negative consequences, and will lead to loss of control over strategic objects.
Particularly, V.Yanukovych believes that the privatization of Turboatom OJSC is inadmissible, because it is a unique enterprise not only on the scale of the country but also the world.
