Poroshenko, Merkel, Hollande and Putin to meet on January 15 in Astana

"My diplomatic year will begin on January 15 in Astana, where we have agreed to hold a meeting in the Normandy format," he said.

"As of today, the foreign ministers of the Normandy format countries have been instructed to prepare the agenda and draft resolutions to this summit," Poroshenko said.

"As it has been previously agreed, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President François Hollande and Russian President Vladimir Putin will participate in the meeting," Poroshenko said.

"This meeting will not contradict the Minsk format," he said.

"We are still committed to the Minsk agreements."
