"The two parties discussed joint steps to overcome the consequences of the Russian aggression in the east of Ukraine .... The main steps should be the restoration of [Ukraine’s control of its] border, the withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of the supply of arms to Russian-backed insurgents," the report reads.

In addition, Yatseniuk discussed with the German president a package of reforms adopted by the Ukrainian government, its future plans to stabilize the financial and economic situation, and steps to fight against corruption.

In addition, the prime minister also spoke of the strong political will of the Ukrainian president, government and parliamentary coalition to make further changes that will lead Ukraine to EU membership.
