"We will conduct the de-politicization and demilitarization of the department. It will shape public policy in areas of its responsibility: the National Police, the National Guard, the State Migration Service, the State Border Service, and the State Service for Emergencies," he said.
"In addition, the ministry will become an open political authority of the central government, or a so-called ‘home office,’" Avakov said.
He also announced the introduction of technology to the work of the ministry.
"We intend to introduce modern technology widely - from electronic document management and opportunity to receive administrative services via the Internet, to equipping automobile roads with video monitoring, and to switch traffic control to an automatic regime," Avakov said.
