The newly appointed Ambassador of Hungary to Ukraine István Íjgyártó has reaffirmed Budapest's support of the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

"Ambassador Íjgyártó has reaffirmed Hungary's continued support of Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and the disposition of his country to expand Ukrainian-Hungarian cooperation, primarily in the economic and humanitarian spheres. In this context, the Hungarian side expressed interest in implementing a number of joint projects in Ukraine," the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry told UNIAN.

Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Vasyl Bodnar has received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Hungarian ambassador and discussed possible ways for further development of bilateral relations.

In particular, the parties stressed the importance of an active dialogue at the level of the heads of foreign ministries of Ukraine and Hungary as an effective factor in finding mutually acceptable solutions to resolve problematic issues. In this context, the schedule of bilateral events for the near future was discussed.

Bodnar also expressed the readiness of the Ukrainian side to support Hungary in all its initiatives, which will contribute to deepening bilateral cooperation.
