Poroshenko, Hollande, Merkel approve Tripartite contact group as format of talks
The Tripartite Contact Group is the best format for negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the Donbas conflict and for the implementation of the Minsk agreements that have been signed by the parties, including Russia, the Ukrainian and French presidents this with the German chancellor, speaking by phone on Wednesday, according to the press service of the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
Poroshenko, his French counterpart François Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed the situation in the Donbas and ways to settle it peacefully.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Tripartite Contact Group consisting of the official representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE on a peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donbas called on all signatories to hold a meeting on the situation in the east of Ukraine as soon as possible.
The Contact Group has said that the increase in violence is a clear violation of the letter and the spirit of the Minsk Protocol of September 5 and the Memorandum of September 19.
