Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has praised the approval by the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) of a new Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) for Ukraine.

"Another good news – as agreed with IMF Managing Director [Christine] Lagarde, the IMF's [Executive] Board has just approved a stand-by program worth $3.9 billion for Ukraine for 14 months. Also approved is a decision to allocate a first tranche of $1.4 billion under this program," he wrote on Twitter on December 18, 2018.
