Neither the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) nor the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) has sent criminal cases opened against ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).

"This information is not true. The said criminal cases have not been transferred to the State Bureau of Investigation," the SBI's press service said.

Several media outlets earlier reported with reference to a source at the SAPO that the NABU and SAPO had transferred about 50 criminal cases against Yanukovych.

Among them was a probe into the ownership of the Mezhyhirya Residence in Novi Petrivtsi in Kyiv region and hunting lands in the village of Sukholuchchya in Kyiv region.

The Mezhyhirya Residence is an estate in Ukraine where Viktor Yanukovych lived when he was Prime Minister and then President of Ukraine and is now a museum displaying Yanukovych's luxurious lifestyle.
