Ukrainian President Poroshenko will most likely run for re-election as an independent candidate, according to media reports.
Poroshenko will formally launch his campaign at the International Exhibition Center in Kyiv on January 29, Ukrainian online newspaper Ukrayinska Pravda reported on January 15, referring to its sources.
Besides Members of Parliament from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction, all government members, including Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman (representing the faction mentioned), as well as Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, are expected to attend the event, according to the report.
It is suggested that the conference will not be held in Party Congress format since Poroshenko is expected to campaign as a non-affiliated bidder, according to the publication.
As was earlier reported, the 2019 presidential election campaign, which will last 90 days, kicked off in Ukraine on Monday, December 31.
