Chief of the National Police of Ukraine Serhiy Knyazev says said that the Russian Federation will make attempts to destabilize the situation through massive provocation in Ukraine during the presidential and parliamentary elections in 2019.

"The aggressor country will also take measures to destabilize the situation in our state, to compromise state agencies and organize acts of provocation," he said at an annual meeting of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kyiv, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

Knyazev expects that the current election campaign will be complicated due to external and internal factors and will require the authorities' concentration on ensuring law and order.

As was reported, Russia says it is going to send its observers as part of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine to monitor the presidential elections.
