Media: Contact Group ‘agrees to ceasefire’
The Tripartite Contact Group, consisting of representatives from Ukraine, Russia, the OSCE and the DPR and LPR militant organizations, may have agreed to a plan to halt hostilities in the Donbas, Russian news agency TASS reported on Tuesday, with reference to an informed source.
"During the talks in Minsk, the parties agreed on a scheme for the withdrawal of heavy weapons, to a ceasefire, and to control over its implementation," the source said.
After the Minsk meeting ended the participants left without speaking to the press.
According to the source, the contact group also discussed the system of government of the Donbas and the issue of local elections.
