Militant leaders sign Minsk peace agreement

At the same time, the leader of the DPR Oleksandr Zakharchenko said that the paragraphs of the document, signed by the members of the Contact Group, require additional approval.

"Thanks to the guarantees of Russian president, German Chancellor and the French president, today we have signed an agreement which, we hope, will put an end to the military actions and allow the DPR and the LPR to be engaged in peaceful construction for the benefit of our people," he said, according to Russian news agency TASS.

"With this step we will help to change Ukraine itself," Zakharchenko said.

After that, the heads of the DPR and the LPR returned to the Dipservice Hall in Minsk, where the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine took place.
