President criticizes informational space of Ukraine
there are problems with unbiased informing the public?
President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko claims that the current state of the informational space in Ukraine threatens the national security.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this, speaking at the National Security and Defense Council session today.
The President stressed that today, in his opinion, the state informational space has serious problems, influencing the country’s development, its consolidation, unity, and understanding in the society.
He pointed out that there are problems with unbiased informing the public about many issues.
The President said that the main task, as of today, is to fill the informational space of Ukraine with the national product. Another important task, according to him, is to increase the Ukraine’s influence in the international media-space.
Victor Yushchenko sharply criticized the fact that, as of today, TV and radio frequencies are often granted to foreign mass media, which push out Ukrainian ones. “I’m ashamed. Pro-state people do not adhere to such a policy”, the President said.
