Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during the meeting with President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović within the annual Munich Security Conference has discussed the need to intensify bilateral cooperation.

The presidents have agreed on the need to intensify bilateral cooperation and discussed promising areas of cooperation, in particular the study of the European integration experience of Montenegro, including the adaptation of national legislation to the EU standards, according to the Ukrainian president's press service.

Poroshenko thanked the president of Montenegro for his consistent resolute support for the EU sanctions policy against the Russian Federation in connection with the ongoing aggression and violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations, European cooperation and cooperation in international organizations.

The parties agreed to maintain an active bilateral political dialogue between Ukraine and Montenegro to realize a significant potential of the Ukraine-Montenegro partnership.

Poroshenko reiterated the invitation to Milo Đukanović to make a visit to Ukraine.
