U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale has highlighted the importance of citizen participation in a democratic Ukraine.

"In his first engagement of the day, Under Secretary Hale met with a group of civil society organizations and highlighted the importance of citizen participation in a democratic Ukraine," the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine wrote on Facebook.

"He emphasized U.S. support for free and fair elections that reflect the will of Ukrainians, not outside powers," reads the report.

As UNIAN reported earlier, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political AffairsDavid Hale is on a visit to Ukraine on March 5-7.
