"Today is a special day. Here [in Khmelnytskiy region] and now, Turkish-made Bayraktar UAVs are being tested," Poroshenko said in a live broadcast on Facebook.
The president added that the Army would soon receive new models of military equipment and weaponry.
Bayraktar TB2 drones will be supplied to Ukraine's special operations forces and air assault units, as well as motorized brigades.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Poroshenko announced on January 12 Ukraine was set to purchase Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 strike drones.
On January 14, the country's Air Force Command said Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 strike drones would significantly strengthen Ukraine's defense capability.
