In Kharkiv, operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine detained the DPR militant, who traveled there seeking to regain the previously lost Ukrainian ID, the press office of the Security Service reported via Facebook.

In early 2019, the man decided to move to Ukraine for permanent residence. He tried to get a duplicate of his documents, which he had allegedly lost. However, the SBU found that in February 2015, the militant had joined the illegal DPR armed group in Horlivka, 112 Ukraine TV channel reported.

The man served in the "military intelligence of Novorossiya" and was actively involved in fighting against the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Law enforcers searched the detainee's apartment where they found an RGD-5 grenade and a TNT explosive. A criminal investigation was opened.

Earlier the SBU detained a man in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region; he appeared to be the informant working for the terrorist organization known as 'DPR' ["Donetsk People's Republic"].

The law enforcers found out that the local resident gathered data on the movement of Ukrainian military vehicles in Kramatorsk. He passed the information to the members of an illegal armed group. 

The perpetrator was detained and charged with the creation of a terrorist group.

The pre-trial investigation is underway.
