Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has agreed to start a debate with Volodymyr Zelensky, his opponent in the presidential election runoff, at Kyiv's Olimpiyskiy Stadium at 19:00 Kyiv time on April 19.

Due to enhanced security measures, prior registration is required for viewers to attend the event, Poroshenko's campaign headquarters wrote on Facebook on April 17.

Metal detector frames will be open from 16:30. IDs are required at the entrance for the security to check with the lists of those registered.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on April 16, spokesman for Poroshenko's campaign headquarters Oleh Medvedev said that the two candidates' campaign headquarters and the Olimpiyskiy administration had signed an agreement to hold a debate. The spokesman believes that the Public Broadcaster and the Central Election Commission should settle the issue of the venue and timing of the debates.
