Former Ukraine Finance Minister arrested in Spain (Video)
Former Ukrainian Finance Minister Yuriy Kolobov, wanted in Ukraine for embezzlement and financial wrongdoing, was arrested in a luxury house in the holiday town of Altea on Wednesday by Spanish police under an Interpol warrant.
According to Reuters, the report on the arrest of a former top Ukraine’s government official, who has been missing since last August, came from a Spanish Civil Guard spokesman, Ukraine Today reports.
A video released by Spain's Civil Guard showed Kolobov in handcuffs being taken to a van shortly after his arrest following initial questioning at a local police station.
Spain's High Court is to decide whether Kolobov will be exradited to Ukraine, ABC newspaper reported. Spain's Interior Ministry abstained from making any comment.
