Poroshenko and Merkel discuss introduction of further sanctions against Russia
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have discussed the introduction of further sanctions against Russia for its failure to fully implement the Minsk agreements, in particular, allowing Kyiv to regain full control over the Ukrainian-Russian border.
As the press service of the head of state reported, the parties had a telephone conversation on Thursday evening, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
Poroshenko informed Merkel about the situation in the Donbas.
The two parties also agreed on the need to increase the number of the OSCE observers and technical equipment of the mission to accelerate the deployment of OSCE observation points on the demarcation line.
The leaders also discussed the details of the future visit of Ukrainian president to Germany, scheduled for March.
