Hryvnia official rate continues to strengthen – now less than 23 to dollar
The National Bank of Ukraine on Friday continued to strengthen the hryvnia official rate, bringing the value of Ukraine’s currency to UAH 22.89 to the dollar, while hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market on Friday strengthened to UAH 23 to the dollar.
As of 1430 the central bank set the following official exchange rates of the hryvnia against leading foreign currencies:
$100 – UAH 2,289.7045 (as of 1400 on March 5 it was UAH 2,309.0564);
EUR 100 – UAH 2,534.4739 (as of 1400 on March 5 it was UAH 2,568.5943);
10 Russian rubles – UAH 3.7023 (as of 1400 on March 5 it was UAH 3.7318).
At the same time, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market as of 1300 on Friday strengthened to UAH 22.60/23.00 to the dollar, a broker at a commercial bank has told an UNIAN correspondent.
Hryvnia quotes against the euro as of 1300 have settled at UAH 24.78/25.25, while against the Russian ruble they have settled at UAH 0.3450/0.3500.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the weighted average exchange rate of the hryvnia as of 1330 was UAH 22.9109 to the dollar, with 66 deals concluded by this time worth a total of $26.62 million.
