"This job isn't easy, but I do it honestly. At the moment, I see no legal or moral grounds to submit a letter of resignation, and the law on the prosecutor's office provides for a change of the prosecutor general only in two cases – when he wants to leave or when parliament wants him to leave. I do not see any legal or moral grounds for my resignation," he told journalists during the Kyiv Jewish Forum, an UNIAN correspondent reports.

Lutsenko claims he "worked in an honest way and has quite good achievements as head of the entire law enforcement system."

At the same time, according to Lutsenko, if the parliament expresses no confidence in him, he will accept this. "I am ready for this," he said.

"I know the consequences, the collection of signatures for my resignation was initiated, and it has already started. According to data for the week, about 19 signatures have been collected. Let's talk when there are 150 [signatures]," he added, noting he is ready to report in parliament and will accept any decision it will take.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said his probable resignation was in line with his political plans.
