The National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has opened proceedings against Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, Andriy Parubiy on suspicion of misuse of budget funds.

"On April 10, 2019, an authorized person of NABU, pursuant to the decision of an investigative judge of Kyiv's Solomyansky District Court dated April 2, 2019, included data in the State Register of Pretrial Investigations on signs of a crime under Part 1 of Article 364 and Part 1 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," NABU's press service told UNIAN.

Thus, a pretrial investigation is underway into deliberate abuse of power or official position to obtain unlawful benefit contrary to the interests of the service, as well as improper use of budget funds, budget expenditures or loans from the budget.

The court ruling of April 2 was published in the State Register of Judicial Decisions.
